Job Description:
General Purpose
To be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific projects ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
supervision of the work of junior staff or mentoring engineers throughout the process;
communicating and liaising effectively with colleagues and architects, subcontractors, contracting civil engineers, consultants, suppliers, co-workers and clients;
thinking both creatively and logically to resolve design and development problems;
managing budgets and other project resources;
reviewing and approving project drawings; developing detailed plant layout designs;
using a range of design computer packages for designing projects and undertaking complex and repetitive calculations;
scheduling material and equipment purchases and delivery;
undertaking technical and feasibility studies and site investigations;
assessing the potential risks of specific projects, as well as undertaking risk management;
supervising tendering procedures and putting together proposals;
managing, supervising and visiting contractors on site and advising on civil engineering issues;
overseeing requirements around issues such as building permits, environmental regulations, sanitary design, good manufacturing practices and safety on all work assignments;
ensuring that a project runs smoothly and that the structure is completed on time and within budget;
correcting any project deficiencies that affect production, quality and safety requirements prior to final evaluation and project reviews.
Desired Candidate Profile:
Education and Experience
Civil/Mechanical Engineering Graduate (Essential) with MBA (Desirable) with 15-20 years of experience in construction, engineering, cement or metal industries.
Experience: 15 years + experience in erection of mechanical equipments, crushers, sugar plants etc..
Should be a good team leader
Willing to travel across India extensively
managing teams
MS Projects
Simultaneously handle multiple projects etc.
Important
head-Projects position reports to Managing Director.
Willingness to travel extensively to different sites for hands on coordination is critical to the role.
Good interpersonal, communication & presentation skills expected.
