Job Description: Role / Responsibilities:
Analyzes the requirements and solution design
Designs and develops test plans and test estimates
Documents testing tasks and creates Test Data and Scenarios
Executes test cases, test programs that includes functional and regression testing
Does software installation and debugging in all layers of multi-tier application
Reports Defects using the SAS defect system. Evaluates fix requests. Tracks specific bugs and verifies fixes.
Participates in team meetings, provides status reports, interacts with development, product and test management
Helps Test manager define and implement test processes and best practices
Participates in SAS Release management process
Helps in Test automation
Advises, assists, and provides documentation and technical publications for external and internal customers
Verifies the application outputs and inputs from statistical/analytical perspective
Desired Candidate Profile:
Technical Requirements:
Strong in testing concepts, ability to functionally and programmatically test applications within Data Warehousing environment
Excellent hands-on skills with Database Testing and SQL Queries. Well versed with database / RDBMS concepts.
Good abilities in Manual, functional and regression testing
Ability to design, develop and execute the test ware for new as well as existing software
Well experienced in Defect Life Cycle
Abilities in J2EE based products both client side (UI) and server side
Exposure on any Unix flavor - AIX / Solaris
Has understanding of Automation testing.
Has understanding of performance testing
Excellent communication and inter-personal Skills
Should be able to work with multiple application servers such as Weblogic, Websphere, Tomcat, JBoss etc.
Should have working knowledge of Java or any other core programming language
Should preferably have worked in product development environment using Agile / Iterative model
Testing, Java, SAS, SQL etc.
Domain skills Preferred: Banking / Insurance
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree preferably in Computer Science/MCA/CDAC or equivalent with 3.5 to 7 years relevant experience in testing
