Job Description:
We are looking for a Chief Technical architect to work with our global architecture team to continue to establish our emerging strategic architectures, and to provide technical leadership on projects as well as oversight and mentoring to our developers.
The architecture is still evolving and changing, but at the same being embraced more widely across technology.
This role is for someone who can share in the ownership of the infrastructure and in ensuring it continues to meet requirements in as flexible and robust a manner as possible.

Desired Candidate Profile:
*  Demonstrates significant competence and efficiency in multiple technology environments ability to operate independently to design, develop and implement software.
* Provides technical coaching to other members.
Independently identifies, defines, directs, and performs analyses to resolve complex first-time project issues including the analysis of technical and economic feasibility of proposed system solutions.
* Responsible for design and implementation approaches for large projects, the evaluation of new technologies and tools, and the coding of high exposure project components.
* Serves as a valuable technical resource in the organization; an individual whom experienced programmers would consult.
Technical skills
*  Java and related technologies, Unix, Linux, Sybase, UDB, OOAD
* Strong Analytical and Design skills are key to the role.
Strong communication skills, Ability to learn quickly and be a self driver, being a team-player and working as part of the global team is extremely important.
* Career development and mentoring of other junior technical members are part of the role.
* Business knowledge - previous work experience with the securities industry is desirable but not required.
