Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities :
Designation - Development Manager (VP Level).
As an Applications Development Manager, you will be a critical member of a large team of developers providing high quality technology solutions that address Commercial Credit Card business needs.
This is a highly demanding position that fulfills an important role within the CCIT Engineering organization. As an Application Development Manager, you will work closely with an On-shore Engineering Director & Development Manager to understand business and / or development demands, define processes within location and perform HR and technical leadership.
As a Development Manager, you will be accountable for the work with IT leadership to understand IT strategy and their implication to application(s) under responsibility. You will be accountable to the Technology Management for end to end application scoping, planning, development, implementation and post-implementation maintenance and support. You will manage development and implementation of enhancements/changes; oversee installations including the final production acceptance review and sign-off.
You will also provide input in the formal performance testing process; help manage the relationship with internal and external services vendors to ensure superior service delivery for all application core technologies; and manage application developers to adhere the Service Level Agreement’s define by our business partners. .
You will manage individual workload and work with the team to deliver to agreed upon project milestones; identify/mitigate risks to delivering solution on time; and act as a team leader, providing support and a review point, for Project Managers and Developers. You will oversee activities associated with 3-4 leads and 5-10 developers. You will provide individuals with constructive feedback as it pertains to team performance; coach staff in technical matters and delivering on other job-related responsibilities; conduct performance reviews, appraisals and personal development planning with each team member; and promote effective teamwork and resolve interpersonal issues.

Requirements in detail :
College degree or specialized training / equivalent work experience.
Minimum seven years of relevant development life cycle experience in systems and applications management including systems/application design.
Strong project management and team management skills e.g. planning, budgetary control, people management etc.
Strong written and communication skills.
Candidate must have prepared written weekly status reports for all work streams.
Expertise in managing web based Java development projects for large scale/high performance applications interfacing with multiple external vendor provided interfaces that support the on-line web application services for thousands of concurrent users requiring 24×7 availability.
Experience implementing quality guidelines, standards and procedures including, the following: IBM Rational toolset (Req Pro, ClearQuest, ClearCase, integrating with Quality Center via synchronization plug-in.
Demonstrated ability to simultaneously manage multiple work streams including Business Analysts, Developers, Infrastructure, Architecture, etc.
Technical background in Java (Spring Framework) on BEA Web Logic/Unix, J Unit/DB Unit, Oracle 11g, DataStage (ETL), Business Objects/Crystal 8.0, and GoldenGate. Datawarehouse reporting experience is also preferred.
The individual will be responsible for addressing Level 3 production support issues and ensure the following: review and triage of daily incidents; enforcing proper incident documentation/peer review and closure tasks are followed, owning issue resolution for priority 1/severity 1 escalated incidents requiring immediate root cause and resolution, complying with established IT architectural, Risk, and operational standard procedures.
